Italian journalist claims Spurs have offered midfielder a contract until 2025

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has now further fuelled speculation linking Marcel Sabitzer with a move to Tottenham Hotspur by claiming that the North Londoners have offered the midfielder a four and a half year contract.

However, multiple sources are now reporting that a move to North London is on the cards for the Austrian next month.

The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has claimed that the attacking midfielder is the man Spurs want to sign as a replacement for Dele Alli, while Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur has said that the 26-year-old has informed Leipzig of his desire to join Spurs.

Schira has now also claimed that the former Rapid Wien man is keen on joining Jose Mourinho’s side next month.

He hinted that Tottenham have already offered him a contract and that Daniel Levy will soon begin negotiations with Leipzig.

Given the sheer number of varied sources now reporting that Tottenham want Sabitzer, one has to assume that there is truth to the reports. If he is to arrive, the Austrian will certainly add a much-needed goal threat from midfield that Spurs have lacked this season.
