Djed Spence played as a left wing-back in his debut for Genoa, with Tuttomercatoweb suggesting that the on-loan Tottenham man had a decent outing.
Spence joined Genoa on a loan deal until the end of the season, with the Italian club having the option to sign him permanently for £8.5m in the summer (Fabrizio Romano).
According to various sources, the right-back has already played his final game in a Tottenham shirt, with journalist Martin Lipton telling The Spurs Show podcast last week Spurs were not happy with his behaviour behind the scenes.
This was also backed up last week by The Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, who said that the 23-year-old struggled to be punctual during pre-season and that Ange Postecolgou has also been far from pleased with his attitude and his lack of focus during training.

Positive start to life for Djed Spence at Genoa
Spence was thrown straight into Genoa’s starting eleven for their clash at Salernitana on Sunday, with the away side coming back from a goal down to win 2-1.
The on-loan Spurs star seemingly gave a decent account of himself at left wing-back although it was suggested that he still has to acclimatise to his new surroundings.
TMW gave Spence a 6.5 out of 10 and wrote about his display: “Needed a physiological acclimatization. The wing is not his but little by little he begins to gain confidence by showing himself regularly towards the back.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Irrespective of whether he is in Genoa’s long-term plans, I presume that the club would take the option to buy him permanently next summer as Spence’s market value is undoubtedly more than £8.5m. Only would hope that the penny has dropped for the right-back and he has put his disciplinary problems behind him.
