Giuseppe Rossi’s agent has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have been to watch the striker.

The Italian international is contracted to Villarreal, where he has scored 33 goals in 91 games.

Rossi has previously played in England as a youngster at Manchester United and there is also interest from Italy.

“I feel that the player can leave Villarreal because this is a period of downsizing for the club,” Rossi’s agent Andrea Pastorello told calciomercato.it

“Several teams like Giuseppe in Italy.

“Juventus and Roma are important clubs, also Napoli and Fiorentina, but there are no real negotiations yet.

“I’m not sure whether Rossi will certainly come back to Italy, in recent weeks he was also viewed by several English clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City.”

  1. This one is from left field. I don't know much about him, 33 in 91 isn't exactly setting the world on fire but I'm happy to hear from people who know him. Is he what we need guys? How good is he?

  2. No matt another small striker! We need a dzeko, fabiano someone who leads the line and scores goals. I would take forlan or aguero all day in front of rossi! Mind you if he signs I will love him I kind of do that with all spurs signings! COYS

  3. that red nose let him go doesnt say much for his ability or suitability for english league.also his agent just happens to mention every top club in the league is interested.smells a bit.

  4. can,t c us buying him surely we have better already, would like us 2 buy someone who can play in the hole as keane is only striker that can do that and he looks on his way out

  5. He is CLASS. Fergie didnt want to let him go but coulnt guarantee 1st team footy.
A skillful goalscorer (although record very much flatters to decieve!)
Would be a good signing for us especially if we get rid of Pav and Keano.

  6. I agree with Keanoson, we need somthing we dont have, a world class centre forward. Defoe is a squad man for me so Fabiano is what we need. Why get Rossi given some of the unanswered questions above if we could get Bellamy, at least we know what he's about and is proven in the prem.

Where goes Rossi sit in terms of ability compared to Keane, Defoe, Crouch, Pav and Gudjohnson? On the outside looking in from my end.

  7. would be an OK signing but nothing special. his stats arnt the best and i belive if we sale both keane and pav we can aim for better in order to promote are selves as a champions league football club.

  8. he is really skillful and certainly could make an impact on the field when he's needed … at the confederations cup he came in as a sub in the last minutes of the match against USA and scored two goals that decided the game .. then again I echo the voices on here saying he is not what spurs need .. what spurs really need is a true world class center forward
