Italian television host claims Inter Milan are more fun to watch without Conte

Italian television host and comedian Paolo Bonolis, who is a big Inter Milan fan, has insisted the Nerrazuri are more fun to watch under Simone Inzaghi than they were under Antonio Conte.

Conte ended Juventus’ stranglehold on the Serie A by delivering Inter their first Scudetto in over a decade last term.

The current Tottenham head coach parted ways with the Italian club in the summer after having disagreements with the club’s hierarchy over their transfer policy (News 18) and was eventually replaced by Inzaghi.

As things stand, Inter look to be within a good chance of winning the title for a second consecutive season, with the club sitting four points clear at the top of the table despite having a game in hand over the teams immediately below them.

That is particularly impressive considering they lost their top scorer from last season, Romelu Lukaku, in the summer.

Bonolis has now admitted that Inter are now more ‘fun’ to watch under Inzaghi and insisted the players look like they are playing with more freedom than they did under Conte.

When asked to compare the Inter side of last season with the current one, he told FCInter1908: “Conte brought back a winning mentality that had been lost over time.

“With Inzaghi, we see an Inter a little higher than about thirty meters: it is automatic that, in this way, the spectator has a little more fun.

“In addition, it seems to me that the players are a little more ‘lightened’ now, compared to a year ago”.

It is only natural that Inter would be more entertaining to watch under Inzaghi, who is a lot more attacking coach than Conte, who is more focused on defensive organisation. However, the Spurs boss deserves credit for what Inter are achieving this season as he has been able to lay a solid foundation from which Inzaghi has built upon.
