“It’s a load of rubbish” – Journalist denies Spurs have signed player

Rumours have been floating around in the last few days that Spurs have managed to sign Bolivian youngster Julio Cesar Torres. A Bolivian TV station interviewed both the player and his agent, both of whom indicated that a loan deal has been agreed which gives Spurs an option to buy the player.

There was then a picture that was doing the rounds on social media that allegedly showed Torres signing the contract with Spurs.

However, what was weird about this saga was that no one had ever heard of Julio Cesar Torres. There was no information on what position he plays in and a Google search of his name didn’t have any results.

It has now been revealed by Football London journalist Alasdair Gold that there is no truth to these rumours. Gold took to Twitter to dismiss both the interview of the player and the agent as well as the circulating image, as fake.

It looks like this was just a case of an agent trying to drum up media attention for his player.
