“It’s bullsh**” – Eriksen dismisses media suggestions

After looking like they were on course to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the title a few weeks ago, Spurs now find themselves with a fight on their hands to finish in the top four places.

Tottenham have only bagged only point from their last four games against Burnley, Chelsea, Arsenal and Southampton, this despite the return of Harry Kane, and more recently Dele Alli.

This has led to many suggesting that Pochettino’s players are running out of gas. Many of Tottenham’s players have had a long season as they were involved in the World Cup until the later stages. Additionally, Spurs had to contend with all four competitions until February with a relatively small squad.

However, Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has dismissed suggests of fatigue being the reason behind their recent poor results, completely out of hand. On the contrary, he insisted that he actually feels fresh and is itching to play games.

Speaking to Danish publication BT, the 27-year-old said, “That’s bullshit (fatigue being the reason for recent results). You get used to playing so much. After all, I’ve played many games for quite a few seasons in a row.

“Rather, it feels unnatural when you’re not playing. My legs are doing well. We didn’t play at the weekend, and it’s been a long time since we haven’t had matches every third or fourth day.

“It is lovely and a little strange. I’m actually a little restless because I want to play.”
