‘It’s crazy’ – Arsenal star reveals he is in awe of Tottenham player

Emile Smith Rowe has expressed his awe at being able to train alongside Tottenham striker Harry Kane while on international duty with England.

Smith Rowe, 21, has been thriving for Arsenal this season and is currently the Gunners’ joint-top scorer in the Premier League with four goals.

He was initially left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino, but the withdrawals of Marcus Rashford and James Ward-Prowse put the midfielder in line for his first Three Lions call up.

As such, Smith Rowe could now be handed his England debut against Albania on Friday and could even be in the fold alongside captain Kane.

The youngster was quizzed on who he was most awestruck by in his first handful of training sessions with the senior team, to which he singled out the Spurs striker despite the obvious North London divide.

He told a pre-match press conference: “Harry Kane, the captain of England. What he has done, it’s crazy to be training alongside him.

“I knew training was going to be difficult. Everyone is so good.”

As much as you hate to admit it, Smith Rowe has been in excellent form for Arsenal this season and he is more than deserving of his England call up.

It isn’t too surprising that he picked out Kane specifically though, as he often takes time to nurture the younger players when they come into the fold.
