‘It’s embarrassing’ – Former Spurs striker rips into Arsenal for loss against Brighton

While it has generally been a season to forget for Spurs fans, the one thing that has made the campaign slightly more bearable is watching the struggles of their neighbours.

Arsenal have restarted their season from where they left off prior to the suspension as they registered two losses in two games this week.

While the 3-0 defeat against Manchester City on Wednesday was not completely unexpected, to lose against Brighton, a team who were winless in 2020 going into the match, shows how poorly Spurs’ North London rivals are currently playing.

The Gunners took the lead against the Seagulls on Saturday and it looked at one point as if they were going to temporarily overtake Spurs in the table.

However, a late double from the home side helped them to turn the result around and predictably sent AFTV into a meltdown.

Former Tottenham striker, Peter Crouch, has since ripped into Mikel Arteta’s side for their result on Saturday.

Speaking to BT Sport (as relayed by Football.London), he said: “I wanted to sit here and say they were slightly better than midweek, but to lose again, it’s embarrassing.

“You’ve got to remember, this is Arsenal, and they’re losing to a team like Brighton, who are fighting against relegation.

“There’s a lot of questions to be asked, there, I think.”

A picture of how the top-four race is going to look like is already starting to emerge after just a handful of games. It is safe to say that we do not have to be worried about Arsenal putting a run together, while Wolves have shown that they have the quality to get enough wins under their belt to finish top four.
