Harry Redknapp has scoffed at some of the players Spurs have been linked with recently and claims he expects a quiet deadline day at Chigwell.
Spurs have signed Sandro (supposedly), William Gallas and Stipe Pletikosa has finally joined to bolster the ranks, but a big-name signing that was expected has failed to materialise.
Steven Pienaar and Scott Parker have been linked with last-minute moves, but Redknapp isn’t expecting too much activity.
“There is nothing in that, I don’t think. I thought it was April Fool’s Day with some of the players we have been linked with today.
“I don’t think we need to be doing anything. I will be very surprised if anything happens.
“At the moment I really don’t think we are anywhere near doing any deals today.”
Players leaving Spurs could still be a possibility, with Jermaine Jenas and Robbie Keane reportedly likely to move on.
“Maybe there will one or two loans going out.
“We have got a practice match this morning. I am just going to watch that and I think it will be a quiet day.”
