Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Jack Clarke from Leeds United on a four-year deal. (Tottenham Hotspur)

However, the 18-year-old will return to Leeds on a season-long loan to gain more first team experience under the watchful eye on Marcelo Bielsa. (Leeds United)

The deal is believed to be in the region of £10m with the possibility for it to rise slightly with add-ons. (Guardian)

Clarke spoke to the club’s website about his delight to join Spurs:

“I’m delighted to join Tottenham and in the short term I’ll be giving my all to hopefully help Leeds win promotion,” he said. (Tottenham)

517 days without a signing a single player has finally come to an end for Spurs fans and to say they were pleased is an understatement.

The announcement has been waited on for the past few days now although the rumours suggested Clarke would return on loan for a season.

  1. Not so much of a bang more of a wimper really, and hardly the marquee signing that’s going to make an immediate difference to our aspirations for the coming season (particularly so as he’s heading straight back up North to Leeds for the forseeable in any case). No sorry it is Ndombele’s signature we truly want to see and even that isn’t enough in my book, we need at least four available players to make the difference, we’ve seen the names so lets go and get them!
