‘It’s finished’ – Nuno reacts to Harry Kane’s tweet about staying at Spurs

Tottenham head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo has now reacted to Harry Kane’s revelation on Twitter that he will be staying at the club this summer.

Nuno said (Jonathan Veal): “Great news. Fantastic news. I think since Harry joined us he has been working so this is what we value. His attitude in training has been excellent. It’s finished, Harry is going to be with us.”

Kane’s tweet brings to an end a summer-long saga revolving a potential transfer to reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City.

However, a recent report revealed that Pep Guardiola’s side were still as much as £50m short of Tottenham’s valuation of the striker.

It was also reported that Daniel Levy was determined not to be forced into a last-minute sale this summer as Man City were apparently preparing a final offer.

Kane ended all speculation by tweeting to fans that he would be staying put in North London beyond the transfer window, while thanking them for their support on Sunday and on social media in general.

The England captain tweeted: ‘It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks. I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success.’

On Kane’s use of the words ‘this summer’, Nuno said (Jonathan Veal): “I am not worried at all. It’s day by day, he’s an option for tomorrow. It’s the only thing, my only thought. I am not going to say what we speak about. It’s between us.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

This has felt like the natural conclusion for a while now. If Man City had or wanted to use the £150m on Kane, they would have done it far earlier. Daniel Levy is not someone you can hardball into a cut-price deal when the player has three years left.
