“It’s like home” – Heung-min Son’s first words after signing new deal at Spurs

Heung-min Son has expressed his delight after committing his future to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 29-year-old has signed a new contract extension which will see him remain at the club until 2025 in what will be considered to be a significant boost in the eyes of supporters.

The South Korean, who has been in North London since 2015 after joining from Bayer Leverkusen admitted that he did not even have to put any thought into pledging his future to the club in what he described as ‘like home’.

Last season, Son enjoyed his most prolific campaign in front of goal in Spurs colours having scored 22 goals and delivered 17 assists in 51 outings across all competitions (transfermarkt).

Son told the official Spurs site: “It was already a big honour to play here for six years, the Club have showed me massive, massive respect and obviously I’m very happy to be here.

“It’s like home, especially with the fans, the players, the staff. There was no decision. It was easy. I’m so happy to be here and will be so glad to see the fans again soon.”
