‘It’s my home’ – Bryan Gil comments on his future while out on loan from Spurs

Bryan Gil claims Sevilla have made him feel ‘important’ after his struggles at Tottenham but admitted that he does not know what the future holds for him.

Gil has been getting regular minutes under his belt since his loan switch to Seville in January and his impressive performances saw him earn a recall to the Spain squad last month.

The 22-year-old not only shone under Jorge Sampaoli but has also continued to be a fixture in the side since the Argentine was replaced by Jose Luis Mendilibar at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

Sevilla do not have the option to buy the winger permanently but one would imagine that the Spaniard would not be keen on warming the bench in North London again next season.

There have also been major changes at the helm in N17 which could impact Gil’s future, with Antonio Conte leaving the club last month and Fabio Paratici also resigning from his role as managing director last week.

The winger has now stated that he ‘feels comfortable’ at Seville but added that is not sure what will happen at the end of the season.

Gil told Estadio Deportivo: “Whenever I have left Tottenham, it has been to look for minutes and to feel comfortable, to feel important.

“Here I am, having all that. I feel very comfortable and it’s my home.

“Right now, I can’t think about the future, and besides, that doesn’t depend on me.”

Gil will have a chance to impress the new head coach in pre-season and stake a claim for a place in Tottenham’s starting eleven.

Antonio Conte seemed to have reservations about the Spaniard due to his perceived lack of physicality and those reservations might not be shared by the next manager.
