“It’s not even close” – Pundit on whether Man Utd should go for Pochettino or Solskjaer

Pochettino’s links to Manchester United are simply refusing to go away at the moment. The Argentine was the huge favorite for the job after the Red Devils parted ways with Jose Mourinho back in December.

However, Man Utd instead decided to appoint former striker Ole Gunnar Solksjaer on an interim basis until the end of the season. The Norwegian has done exceedingly well during his time at the club and has managed to revive Man Utd’s season.

United have now clawed their way back into the race for the top 4, and have managed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Champions League after overcoming Paris Saint-Germain. This has led many United fans and former players to call for Solksjaer to be handed the job permanently.

However, ESPN FC pundit Craig Burley, however, has said that Ed Woodward should give the job to Pochettino and that choosing between the Argentine and Solskaer is a no brainer.

According to the Daily Star, Burley told ESPN FC, “If it wasn’t Manchester United and there was another club to be managed, and there was a choice between Solskjaer and Pochettino, it’s not even close – it’s Pochettino.

“So why should it be different because it’s his former club? Over a short period at the moment he’s done a great job, but who would you prefer to try and peg back Klopp and Guardiola with a big budget?

“I think Pochettino would be the answer with a big budget.”
