‘It’s not happening’ – Journalist claims Skriniar to Tottenham is now off the table

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Milan Skriniar to Tottenham is a no-go this summer, despite heavy links throughout the window.

The same journalist reported earlier today that Inter Milan were not prepared to sell their man in the final hours of the window and were not expecting another Spurs bid. However, he did leave a slither of hope by saying that it was up to Tottenham.

Skriniar was named in the Inter Milan starting line-up to face Lazio at the weekend, perhaps a clear message that the defender is not for sale.

Football London had previously reported that the Slovakian was Tottenham’s top target this summer when it comes to central defenders.

The same source also claimed that Spurs could make a second bid before the deadline, while admitting that the clubs remained far apart in their valuations of the player.

With the European market shutting tonight, Spurs will have to move quickly to get their man, but if Romano’s comments are anything to go by, this deal is dead in the water.
