‘It’s our home’ – Heung-min Son sends ‘horrible’ warning to Liverpool

Heung-min Son has called for Tottenham to give Liverpool a ‘horrible night’ ahead of this evening’s Premier League encounter.

The clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Spurs’ first match in exactly two weeks after having their last three in all competitions postponed for Covid-related reasons.

It is also just one of four league games scheduled to go ahead from this weekend’s allocated fixture list, with the remaining six all called off due to fresh outbreaks of the virus.

The task for Antonio Conte’s side is expected to be a tricky one, though, with high-flyers Liverpool rolling into N17.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have looked resurgent since their defeat to West Ham last month – winning each of their last six games and continuing to chase down Manchester City at the league summit.

Spurs have fared miserably against Liverpool in recent seasons – with their last win coming in October 2017 – and have often lacked the cutting edge to truly trouble the Reds.

However, Son feels Spurs need to make Liverpool’s welcome an uncomfortable one and believes the side has to take the fight to Klopp’s men to get a positive result.

He told Sky Sports: “I don’t want them to think they can come here and get three points easily. I want to take those three points from them. It’s our home, I want them to have a horrible night.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s recent record against Liverpool hasn’t been good enough and poor finishing has often let the side down in this fixture.

Spurs do need to be aggressive against a really top team, but they need to make sure they take their chances or they risk being punished as they have done in the past.
