‘It’s unbelievable’ – Gary Neville argues that one Spurs figure is the ‘best in football’

Former Manchester United star turned pundit, Gary Neville, has doubled down on his praise for Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy, describing him as the best in the business when it comes to the commercial side of the job.

Daniel Levy is the longest-serving chairman in the Premier League now, having taken up his position at Tottenham way back in 2001.

During the course of his 23 years as chairman, Spurs have won just one trophy, leading to a fair degree of disgruntlement among the Lilywhites supporters.

However, from a business point of view, Spurs are now one of the richest and most profitable clubs in world football. With incredible revenue coming from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, that only looks like continuing on an upward trajectory, too.

Daniel Levy is the best in the business

Gary Neville has praised Levy for his work before, and has repeated that once again now, insisting the Spurs man may not get things right when it comes to football, but off the field he is the best there is.

He told The Overlap: “I said a few years ago and I was criticised at the time. I think he’s the best operator in football because actually if you look at what he’s done off the pitch, there is no one I think apart from Manchester City with that endless cash that they have has developed their stadium and training ground in the way which Tottenham have.

“It’s unbelievable what he’s done. The problem is he’s never really got it right on the football side.”

I have always said that you simply cannot argue with what Daniel Levy has done off the field when it comes to commercial strategy and heightening the brand of Tottenham Hotspur. I just think football should be the priority and it doesn’t always feel like it is.
