‘It’s very unfair if I get this award’ – Son shows how humble he is yet again

Tottenham will soon be playing all their home games at the brand new 62,062-capacity stadium. Crystal Palace will be the first team to visit the venue on the 3rd of April.

The stadium has received rave reviews from many fans and former players, with many labeling it the best facility in the world.

While the ground received a lot of bad press over the last few months owing to repeated delays, there is no doubt that Daniel Levy has delivered a truly unique world-class facility.

Tottenham forward Son Heung-Min reckons that Tottenham now have the resources to compete with any football club in Europe and that it is now up to the squad to create history.

Speaking to the Guardian, the 26-year-old said, “We have the best training ground in the world. I think we have the best stadium in the world.

“Everything is now ready, to compare to anything. It’s now very important that the players are serious and take the chance. It’s simple, like this.

“The answer is now the players, how they perform, how they take things seriously.”

When asked about his chances of winning the Player of the Season award, the South Korean insisted that there were other players in the league who deserve it more than he does.

He added, “Definitely not me. It’s very unfair if I get this award because there are players playing very, very well this season.

“It’s very unfair that people talk about me in this award. I’m very proud, of course, but some players are doing better than me.”
