Jack Clarke ‘likes’ Instagram post from Charlton player after Leeds defeat

Jack Clarke – on loan at Leeds United after signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer – has liked an Instagram post from Charlton player Connor Gallagher after the Addicks defeated Bielsa’s men at The Valley on Saturday.

Clarke was an unused substitute in the game and has yet to play any Championship football at all this season since returning to Elland Road, with his only senior appearances coming in the League Cup.

Tottenham are reportedly considering terminating Clarke’s loan spell and recalling him from Leeds in January (Sports Mole) due to his lack of minutes so far this season. After an inconsistent start to the season, Spurs may feel that Clarke can play a part at the club in the second half of the season, or they may loan him to another club until June.

Clarke liking the Instagram post from Gallagher is no surprise, as they are England Under-20 teammates. However, liking an opposition player’s post after you side loses to them will never go down well with supporters.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham simply have to recall Jack Clarke in January if Marcelo Bielsa is not going to play him. The whole point of sending a young player out on loan is to get some minutes and gain some valuable experience to help them grow. So far during this campaign, Clarke has not played a single minute in the Championship, and therefore Pochettino may as well recall him and either send him somewhere where he is certain to play, or start embedding him into this Spurs squad a little earlier than expected.
