Real Valladolid goalkeeper Jaime has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in bringing him to White Hart Lane.
The 31-year-old helped the Spanish club return to the Spanish top-flight last season and has been with them since 1998.
France number one Hugo Lloris has been heavily linked with a move to the Lane and would be our preferred choice over Jamie (who we admit we have never even heard of before). Friedel has admitted himself that this season could be his last as a professional so we do need to start looking for a replacement.
Jamie told Sky Sports: “That is true. Spurs and other clubs are interested.
“The situation is in the hands of my agent and Valladolid. I am happy here but it is normal to desire to improve as a professional.”
Valladolid’s sporting director, Alberto Marcos, claims no concrete bids have been made.
He said: “We still do not have a formal proposition on the table.”
