James Maddison has reflected on the fact that Tottenham will go into the final day of the season with their Premier League status still on the line.
The prospect of relegation for the first time in 50 years continues to be realistic for Tottenham heading into their final league game of the season.
Spurs need a point against Everton to secure their place in the Premier League after they fell to their second league defeat under Roberto De Zerbi on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.
There will be plenty of anxiety and nerves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium unless the Lilywhites can assert their dominance and score early.

James Maddison calls on Tottenham players to ‘give everything for the badge’ on Sunday
Maddison has been a mere spectator this season until the last two games, but his experience and quality could still come in handy for the Lilywhites in their quest to stay up.
The attacking midfielder confessed that it is embarrassing for Spurs to be in this position and called on his teammates to leave everything on the field on Sunday to get over the line.
When asked about the upcoming clash against Everton, Maddison told Sky Sports: “We have to give everything for the club, for the badge, for the fans. It’s a bit embarrassing that we’re in this position. We’re going to need our fans, who were unbelievable tonight. I think we have the best away following in the league.”
Roberto De Zerbi claims Everton clash is bigger than Europa League final
Like Maddison, the Tottenham boss has also issued a rallying cry to the players and the fans ahead of their final league game of the season.
De Zerbi insisted that the clash against Everton is bigger for Spurs than last year’s Europa League final, since the club’s history and dignity are on the line.
The Lilywhites have the second-worst record at home in the entire league this season, but they remain unbeaten in their two home games under De Zerbi.
