Jamie Carragher and Michael Owen give their opinion on a Bayern move for Harry Kane

Michael Owen has urged Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham Hotspur and beat Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record.

It emerged earlier today that Bayern’s latest offer for Kane, which by some accounts could rise to over £110m including add-ons, had been accepted by Tottenham (Independent).

However, multiple outlets have reported that the England captain now has a big decision to make on whether to stay or leave as he has been enjoying working with Ange Postecoglou (The Athletic).

Carragher and Owen have their say on Kane to Bayern

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol even suggested earlier that a deal is far from done since the centre-forward is still leaning towards staying at his boyhood club.

Owen has now taken to social media to insist that if he were Kane, he would remain at Tottenham, suggesting that clinching the Premier League goals record would be a bigger achievement than winning a couple of Bundesliga titles with Bayern.

Jamie Carragher also agreed with his former Liverpool teammate’s claim, pointing out that Shearer’s Premier League goals record gets talked about a lot more than his title win with Blackburn Rovers.

It is quite obvious that breaking Shearer’s record would be more valuable than winning a couple of Bundesliga titles but Kane might believe that he has a chance of Champions League glory with Bayern.
