Jamie Carragher makes surprising top four predictions

Tottenham are in a terrible run of form at the moment having picked up only one point from their last five Premier League games.

This poor run has allowed their North London rivals Arsenal to climb above them to the 3rd spot in the table. With only three points now separating Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd and Chelsea, the race for the top four positions appears extremely tight.

With Spurs set to play their first full season at the new stadium next season, it is essential that the club ensure that they qualify for the Champions League.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has said that he expects both Man Utd and Spurs to finish in the top four.

The 41-year-old said that he expects Arsenal to slip up given their poor away form.

With trips to Everton, Watford, Wolves, and Burnley still left for the Gunners, the former England man said he expects them to drop points along the way.

Speaking during Sky Sports’ show Monday Night Football, Carragher said, “If I was saying now and had to call it now I’d probably still go for Spurs and Man United.

“I still think that away form [from Arsenal is a problem]. When you say they’re not playing big six rivals, they’re the type of away games that have players and teams at the real top.

“You look at Everton away, Watford, Wolves, Burnley. Yes, you’re not playing United, City, Liverpool, but those ones, even a draw there now is not a good result it’s that tight.

“They concede almost two a game away from home. 27 goals, that’s an awful lot. The contrast with at home, it’s unbelievable.”
