Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes that Harry Kane will remain at Tottenham Hotspur despite any potential interest from Manchester United.
Tottenham’s hopes of a top four finish and another season of Champions League football were ended in dramatic fashion at St James’ Park yesterday when the north Londoners were humiliated by a 6-1 scoreline at the expense of Newcastle United.
Kane has entered the final 18 months of his lucrative contract ahead of his June 2024 expiry date and Manchester United were reported to have made the England captain their main strike target for this summer’s transfer window by Erik ten Hag (Manchester Evening News).
The Telegraph reported earlier today that United have already made the first move to sound out Tottenham over a potential deal.
United plan to bid for the Spurs talisman and are currently conducting their due diligence over what price they might need to secure his signature with the expectation that he will not put pen to paper on a new deal in north London.
#Kane saga!
Levy will turn down an offer from MU, who will then have to sign another striker this summer.
Then every top team in the PL has a striker, Kane wants the PL goal record so he won’t go abroad for free the next summer.
I think he signs for Spurs! #NEWTOT

Harry Kane has given everything to Tottenham and it is only fair that at this stage of his career, he is given the opportunity to win trophies. Realistically, silverware is not going to be paraded down the Tottenham High Road in the near future and he deserves to compete at the highest level.
Seeing him in the red of United alongside Christian Eriksen would be painful, but this is the current state of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
