Jamie O’Hara claims Spurs player was ‘an absolute disgrace’ against Newcastle

Jamie O’Hara has criticised Davinson Sanchez for his performance in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Newcastle on Sunday.

Mourinho decided to keep faith with a centre-back pairing of Sanchez and Joe Rodon, who keep a clean sheet at Villa Park ahead of the international break.

After a difficult start to the season, Sanchez had shown signs of having turned a corner over the last two months as he put in a series of solid displays at the back.

However, the Colombian’s old habits reared their ugly head once again on Sunday after he struggled to cope with Joelinton in one on one situations and was also sloppy while in possession.

The 24-year-old was at fault for Newcastle’s opener after the home side pounced upon his poor clearance to take the lead.

The Tottenham defender was inexplicably targeted with racist abuse after the 2-2 draw against Newcastle and the club were quick to condemn the behaviour and express heir support for the defender.

Here’s what O’Hara tweeted about Sanchez during the game:

Sanchez looked extremely nervous and shaky right from kick-off. However, taking him off would have further dented his confidence. Besides, since Alderweireld did not make the matchday squad, Eric Dier was the only player Mourinho could have replaced the Colombian with.
