Jamie Redknapp claims rumoured £10m Spurs target ‘is bound to be sold’

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Bournemouth are guaranteed to sell rumoured Spurs target, Callum Wilson this summer.

Despite turning over Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park in their final match of the season, the Cherries could not avoid the drop as Aston Villa’s point against West Ham sealed the fate of Eddie Howe’s side.

The Sun claimed last week that Spurs could make an offer for Wilson if the Cherries go down. It was claimed that the club viewed the England international as the perfect back up to Harry Kane and could be set to launch a £10 million bid.

Some Spurs fans certainly seem receptive to the idea of snapping up the 28-year-old as an understudy for Kane.

Redknapp believes it is inevitable that Bournemouth will sell the striker this summer. The 47-year-old, who made his professional debut for the Cherries, admitted that he feared for his former club’s future and that a summer exodus was likely.

Redknapp wrote in The Daily Mail: “Now they’re (Bournemouth) out of the Premier League and I fear for my former club.

“Callum Wilson is bound to be sold this summer. Nathan Ake may leave, too, while I’m sure someone will be looking to snap up David Brooks. C

“Can they make a comeback from the Championship? It was a miracle when Eddie Howe did it the first time and it would take another for them to return.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Wilson would be an excellent back up to Kane as he can lead the line on his own or partner the England captain. He could potentially give Jose a lot more options up front, which is much-needed. With us being involved in four competitions next season, perhaps Wilson can be convinced that he will get enough game time at Spurs.
