Jamie Redknapp makes a Spurs prediction that Arsenal fans will hate

Jamie Redknapp believes that Tottenham Hotspur will decide who gets crowned Premier League champions this season, admitting that he cannot see Arsenal winning the North London Derby.

The title race is too close to call at the moment with just a point separating Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Spurs still have to play all three of those sides, with the Lilywhites set to host Arsenal and City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as well as making a trip to Anfield.

Tottenham will be focused on their own quest to finish in fourth place and secure qualification to the Champions League ahead of Aston Villa.

However, if Ange Postecoglou’s recent assertion is to be believed, he is not particularly bothered about finishing fourth and instead wants to see signs that his side is moving in the right direction (Football.London).

Tottenham will decide where the Premier League title goes

The best way his team can show signs of progress is by getting the better of the three sides above them in the table and Redknapp believes that Tottenham will make it difficult for those sides, backing them to at least get a point against the Gunners.

The pundit told Sky Sports (via Football.London): “We’ve seen what it is like today and Spurs are a lot better team than Manchester United, how difficult they’re going to make it for Arsenal.

“As much as he [Postecoglou] says he doesn’t want to be involved in the title race, Spurs are going to decide where the Premier League trophy goes.

“They’ve got to play all of the top three. Whether they can beat them, I don’t know, but I certainly don’t think Arsenal will go there and win. They will drop points there because it is such a difficult place to play. They play good football, it’ll be exciting, there’ll be a massive atmosphere there.

“You look at May 5th, they’ve got to go away to Liverpool, Spurs are a good side on the counter, and obviously Manchester City which is going to maybe be arranged for last midweek of the season. We’ll see. They’re some really important games, they’re in good form and full of confidence.”

Spurs Web Opinion

While I do not see us getting anything from the trip to Anfield, we are almost certainly capable of beating both Arsenal and Manchester City at home.

Those sides will be far more nervous than us coming into those matches and the Tottenham players will relish the chance to express themselves and show what they can do in such high-profile fixtures.
