Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Liverpool should potentially consider signing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.
Redknapp, who played for both clubs during his career suggested that the England captain could potentially be on Jurgen Klopp’s radar.
Liverpool have failed to hit the same heights this season compared to what they enjoyed in their previous title-winning campaign and are currently seventh in the Premier League table, level on points with Tottenham who sit above them on goal difference.
Tottenham gave up the chance to move back into the top four at the expense of Chelsea at the weekend when they could only muster a draw against relegation-threatened Newcastle United.
Redknapp said on the Pitch to Post podcast on Sky Sports: “Harry Kane maybe might be a player who is on their radar, who knows how Liverpool might address it.”
It would seem unlikely that Daniel Levy would sanction the sale of Kane to a Premier League rival, along with the prospect of any interested party meeting his asking price amid the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Qualifying for the Champions League would be a big plus in trying to keep Kane in North London, the forward deserves to be playing in European football’s top club competition.
