Jan Vertonghen makes fun of Spurs pair’s shooting ability on social media

Moussa Sissoko and Serge Aurier are both players who turned their Spurs careers around after less than ideal starts to life in North London.

Sissoko struggled to adapt during his first couple of years at the club and found himself restricted to a bit-part role.

However, the midfielder has now become a fan favourite on the back of a sensational 2018/19 season for which he deservedly won the Legends’ Player of the Season award.

It has been a similar story at Spurs for Aurier who found himself behind Keiran Trippier in the pecking order in his first couple of seasons at the club.

However, the Ivory Coast international has arguably been one of Spurs’ most improved players since the arrival of Jose Mourinho in November.

For all the improvements that Sissoko and Aurier have made, one area of their game that remains suspect is their finishing.

Jan Vertonghen decided to poke fun at the pair’s shooting ability by tagging them in a funny post on Instagram.

When asked to name a friend ‘who would still miss’ with a picture of a giant goalpost, the Belgian named Aurier and Sissoko.

Jan’s joke is a little harsh on Serge considering that he has managed a few tidy finishes this season. Sissoko has also improved a lot in front of goal compared to his first couple of seasons but there is still a lot more room for improvement.
