Janssen rejected chance to remain in the Premier League

Talksport.com are reporting that our Dutch international forward Vincent Janssen rejected opportunities to stay in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old former Az Alkmaar striker had offers from West Brom and Premier League new boys Brighton but opted to join Fenerbahce and try his luck in the Turkish Süper Lig.

The Dutchman has had a hugely encouraging start to life in Turkey, scoring twice in three games along with as many assists as he tries to kick-start his career in Istanbul.

Talksport claim Baggies boss Tony Pulis was keen to bring Janssen to the Hawthorns this summer while ex Tottenham coach Chris Hughton, at newly promoted Brighton, was also interested.

However, Janssen chose to try his luck elsewhere and insists he is fully focused on getting his career back on track in the Turkish capital.

According to Fanatik, Janssen said “I could have joined West Brom or Brighton, what would have happened had I joined one of them? I do not want to think about it”

We wish Vincent the very best, and it is great to see him hit the ground running in Turkey. This loan move could be the making of him.

What do you think? Will the Dutchman come back a more accomplished player ready to challenge Harry Kane and perhaps Fernando Llorente or is the Premier League just a step too far. Let us know your thoughts.
