Japhet Tanganga’s shares his thoughts on Twitter after making Premier League debut

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho sprung somewhat of a surprise with his team selection to face Liverpool in North London yesterday evening.

Mourinho decided that it was time to hand Japhet Tanganga his Premier League debut for the visit of the top flight leaders.

Tanganga played on the left side as part of a central defensive back three alongside Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez with Jan Vertonghen dropping to the bench.

The Portuguese admitted that the opted with the academy product due to his pace to help combat the attacking threat of Jurgen Klopp’s side (Sky Sports Main Event – 11/1/20 – from 17:00).

Tanganga had an impressive top flight debut for Mourinho’s side, who had the 20-year-old to thank after clearing a Roberto Firmino effort off the line inside the first two minutes.

The Hackney-born player took to Twitter late on Saturday evening to share his thoughts on his appearance in the 1-0 defeat.
