Jenas claims Kane will get the headlines but this ‘sensational’ Spurs star deserves credit

Tottenham Hotspur recorded one of their most impressive wins of the season last night against Man City, defending and countering their way to a 2-0 result.

Spurs scored within the first five minutes of the game through Heung-min Son before digging in and putting eleven men behind the ball.

Mourinho’s men waited patiently for their next opportunity and took it in the second half when Harry Kane sent Giovani Lo Celso into the box, who slotted home calmly.

Kane put in a sublime all-round performance against Pep Guardiola’s side, dropping deep to collect the ball, creating space, assisting, and even defending well in his own third.

However, while former Spurs star Jermaine Jenas admitted that Kane played well and would likely receive the plaudits, he wanted to highlight the performance of Eric Dier at the back.

Dier spent the 90 minutes heading away any aerial ball that came his way and throwing himself in front of blocks, earning every bit of his eventual clean sheet.

Jenas said on Twitter: ‘What a result that was and some unreal performances tonight and @HKane will get all the plaudits and rightly so. But this man @ericdier was sensational tonight! COYS!’
