Jenas claims this man is Tottenham’s ‘best player’ and a ‘complete Mourinho-type’

Tottenham Hotspur were without Heung Min Son for three festive games across December and January, with the forward making his return in the FA Cup this week against Middlesbrough.

This came after Son was caught kicking out at Antonio Rudiger against Chelsea before Christmas, with VAR adjudging that it was violent conduct and worthy of a red.

Spurs appealed the decision but that three-match ban was given. Luckily, Sonny now returns just as Kane heads the other way, with Tottenham’s star striker tearing his hamstring against Southampton on New Years Day.

Under Pochettino, Son was always famous for stepping up in the absence of Kane, particularly on the biggest stage in the Champions League.

Who could forget his three goals across the two games against Manchester City in the quarter-finals last season?

Jermaine Jenas has now argued that Son has been Spurs’ best player over the last two years and is a real Mourinho-type player.

He said (BT Sport 1 HD – 05/01/20 from 13:30): “Honestly, I’ve said for a couple of years, I think he’s been Spurs’ best player for a couple of years.

“Harry Kane’s been unbelievable don’t get me wrong but I think what he brings to the table in terms of the goals, the way he plays, the work rate, he is a complete Jose Mourinho-type player from an attacking point of view.

“It will be good for Spurs fans to see him back, definitely.”
