Jermain Defoe asks striker if he will be joining Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur were left high and dry without an experienced striker at the turn of the year when both Harry Kane and Heung-min Son were sidelined through injury.

Kane’s 2020 got off to the worst possible start when he tore his hamstring in the New Year’s Day defeat at Southampton.

Son looked as if he would pick up the goalscoring burden in Kane’s absence only for the South Korean to suffer an arm fracture following his heroics at Aston Villa in February.

Jose Mourinho admitted during the winter transfer window that he was keen to add another striker to his ranks, but came up empty handed (Daily Mail).

It now appears that Jermain Defoe is pitching in to try and add another forward to Mourinho’s squad following some recent activity on Instagram.

The former Spurs front man could not resist asking his ex-Bournemouth team mate Callum Wilson on whether he was going to make the switch to North London.

FourFourTwo claim that Spurs have emerged as contenders to sign the 28-year-old, who is valued at around £15million by relegated Bournemouth.
