Jermaine Jenas singles out the only Spurs player who tried against Brighton

Jermaine Jenas singled out Moussa Sissoko for a special mention as the only Tottenham Hotspur player who showed some effort against Brighton.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side put in another diabolical performance during the 3-0 defeat against the Seagulls which comes on the back of the 7-2 thumping by Bayern Munich.
Sissoko was asked to operate at the slightly unfamiliar position of right-back on Saturday due to Serge Aurier’s one-match suspension.
The Frenchman was his usual energetic self but was unable to help inspire his team mates with the likes of Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son all playing way below the level expected of them.
Sissoko looked more comfortable when Pochettino switched his tactics in the second half with the 30-year-old playing as a right wing-back.
Many Spurs fans were also appreciative of the fact that Sissoko took to Twitter after the match to apologise to the supporters for the poor run of form whilst calling for unity.
Jenas said on BT Sport 1 (2:45pm, October 5, 2019): “Sissoko, who by the way was one of Spurs’ best players today, he’s the one who actually tried out there.”
