Jermaine Jenas’ three-word description of Christian Eriksen after Brighton win

Tottenham had to fight hard for the whole ninety minutes to ensure that they took all three points against Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The visitors arrived with the game plan of defending with all 10 players in their third and thus frustrating Tottenham. The plan certainly worked as Spurs struggled to break Brighton down.

In the second half, Tottenham pushed forward with their two central defenders, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, almost playing as additional midfielders. However, a goal still seemed to elude Spurs and it looked like it wasn’t going to be their night.

However, with just over a minute of regular time left, Christian Eriksen let loose a left-footed piledriver that beat Matt Ryan and found the bottom corner of the net in front of 17,500 fans in the south stand.

It looked like it was going to take a moment of class to break Brighton down, and the Dane certainly came up with the goods just at the right moment.

Former Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas took to social media after the game to praise the 26-year-old midfielder
