Jerome Boateng urges Bayern Munich to sign Tottenham star ‘immediately’

Jerome Boateng has claimed that Bayern Munich should look to replace Robert Lewandowski with Harry Kane if the Polish striker departs the Allianz Arena this summer.

Lewandowski has only 12 months left on his contract with Bayern and reports indicate that the 33-year-old is trying to force a move away from the Bundesliga giants, with Barcelona being mooted as his most likely destination (Mundo Deportivo).

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Tottenham have no intention of listening to offers for Kane this summer despite the England captain having just two years left to run on his contract with the club (Football.London’s Alasdair Gold).

The 28-year-old hinted this week that he would be open to committing his future to Spurs if Antonio Conte stays at the North London club (Evening Standard).

Boateng believes that Kane would be the ideal replacement for Lewandowski, insisting that the Spurs star would be able to generate a better goal output at a club like Bayern.

The former Bayern centre-back told Sky Sport Germany: “Many strikers have impressed me and at the moment they have the best with them in Lewy. Benzema can also be mentioned after this season.

“Personally, I would at FC Bayern try to get Harry Kane immediately. That’s my opinion. For me, he’s a complete striker who scores his goals every day at Tottenham, In a very good, but not world-class team.

“If he’s in a team like FC Bayern plays, then I think it’s a great replacement at a very good football age. But that’s up to FC Bayern.”

I do not think Kane would be interested in leaving the Premier League as he seems to be eyeing Alan Shearer’s record. Bayern are also not the sort of club that pay bid transfer fees for players. So, I do not think there is any chance of them replacing Lewandowski with Kane.
