Joe Hart opens up on Harry Kane’s talents and Spurs’ Premier League aims this season

Joe Hart has admitted that he has found Harry Kane to be faultless both on and off the pitch since joining the Lilywhites on a free in the summer.

Kane has started the season in terrific form, having registered an astounding ten goals and nine assists already this campaign (transfermarkt.com).

Spurs fans have known for years that the 27-year-old is up there with the best in the world but it finally feels as though the England captain is starting to get the credit that he deserves from pundits.

Hart knows the striker well from his time with England and admitted that he is now glad to call Kane a club teammate.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the goalkeeper said: “He has always had that ability.

“I struggle to find a fault with Harry. He is absolutely brilliant. Every single pass, every single shot, every single decision.

“He is such a team player. His leadership is doing it, which is often more important than being vocal.

“We have seen how selfless he is. He is a special player and I love being in the same team as him.”

Given the form that the Lilywhites have shown at the start of the season, some are starting to come around to the fact that Jose Mourinho’s men could challenge for the Premier League title.

Hart is one of the few players in the Tottenham squad who knows what it takes to win titles, having won the league twice during his time at Manchester City.

When asked about the club’s ambitions this season, the 33-year-old said: “We are moving in the right direction. Jose inherited a good team and he has made some shrewd additions.

“There is a big difference between saying you want to win something and showing and believing and doing the right things to put yourself in the best position to win.

“Where you want to be is when all the finals are over and the Premier League is finished, everyone can look at each other and say we left nothing out there and threw everything at it.”
