Aston Villa captain John McGinn has aimed an accidental dig at Tottenham amid the Lilywhites’ winless Premier League run this season.
Spurs’ winless run in the Premier League continues as they failed to get a result against Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Villa came into the match off the back of a winless run themselves, having collected just one point from their first four matches.
Spurs, on the other hand, were slightly better off, having managed two points from their first four and were placed 17th in the Premier League table.

A victory today was always going to be vital for either side ahead of the long international break set to come this month.
However, Tottenham have now missed their chance to secure their first win and will have to sit with their defeat for the next three weeks.
Following the match, John McGinn fired an accidental dig at Spurs after they once again failed to secure a crucial win, heading into the international break sitting in the bottom three.
He said when speaking to TNT Sports: “It is a relief because I was thinking leading up to the break, it is an international break, it is a long one on the normal. You do not want to be in the bottom three. So it was a really important game but we had to work for it. In the first half we were poor, we showed nothing going forward. In the second half we stood tall and deserved our win.”
Roberto De Zerbi must use long break to reset Spurs
De Zerbi will now have to make the most of the long break to get several of his players’ fitness back up before football returns. The Tottenham boss already hinted that he planned to do just that ahead of the meeting with Villa in his pre‑match press conference.
When asked about plans for the international break, De Zerbi said: “We have to understand how many players can stay or not, because also the important players, I think they stay, and we have to organise the rest.”
Quizzed further on whether those who have had to battle with injuries will stay, he added: “For example, Udogie, we have to see if he goes with Italy or not, because I hope all my players, they are selected for their national team, but in case they do not go, especially for the players like Udogie or James Maddison, we have to make the right plan to work, to stay ready when the Premier League restarts.”
