John Terry mocks Spurs following Chelsea defeat

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has taken a dig at Spurs on social media after they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea on Sunday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Frank Lampard’s side outclassed Spurs right from the start with the lilywhites struggling to get a foothold in the game.

The Chelsea boss chose to employ a back three for the Spurs clash with Marcus Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta providing the width as wing-backs. The system worked perfectly as the away side stiffed Spurs’ midfield and restricted them to just a few opportunities for the majority of the game.

After the Blues won to go six points clear of Spurs in the Premier League table, Chelsea posted a picture of Frank Lampard celebrating the win through their official Instagram account.

According to the Daily Star, in the comment section of the post, Terry wrote: “Three-point lane. Some things never change”. The former Blues defender was hailed by several Chelsea fans for his cheeky comment.

Spurs Web Opinion

One of the reasons the result on Sunday was so disappointing was because we have had Chelsea’s number at home for the past decade or so. In fact, the Blues have only won twice at White Hart Lane for the last decade until the game on Sunday. Hopefully, we can bounce back quickly in the game against Brighton.
