Jonathan De Bie – Who is the 19-year-old keeper in the Spurs pre-season squad?

Tottenham Hotspur announced their pre-season tour squad earlier this week, as the first-team flew out to Singapore to play Juventus on July 21.

Pochettino decided to include a number of youth players within the tour squad, but one seemed to raise more eyebrows than most, Jonathan De Bie.

With Michel Vorm released on a free last month and Hugo Lloris coming towards the end of his career, it may be the perfect time to be an up-and-coming keeper in the Spurs academy.

Who is the player? Where did he come from? And is he any good?

Name: Jonathan De Bie

Position: Goalkeeper

Joined Spurs: 2016

Born: Uccle, Belgium.

Previous Clubs: AFC Tubize, Anderlecht and KV Mechelen.

International Career: De Bie has played for Belgium at U15, U16, U17, and U18 levels.

History: In the 2017/18 campaign, De Bie was the captain of the Tottenham U18 side under Scott Parker. He started 18 matches that season, leading Spurs to the final of the U18 Premier League Cup. He since moved up to the U23s at Tottenham.
