Jonathan Woodgate declares Middlesbrough’s interest in Spurs player

Tottenham Hotspur may still be in the midst of a battle with Middlesbrough for a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup, with their replay set for mid-January, but there has been talk of the Lilywhites sending a player to the Championship side.

Reports have suggested that Middlesbrough are one of many clubs interested in taking teenage winger Jack Clarke on loan for the rest of the season from Spurs (Football London).

This came after the youngster endured a frustrating start to the season on loan at Leeds, coming on as a substitute in just one Championship game all season.

Spurs have since recalled Clarke back to North London and ex-Tottenham man/Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has now admitted that he likes the look of the youngster.

However, Woodgate did admit that it was unlikely that Middlesbrough would be able to secure that starlet on loan from his old club at this time.

He said (Teesside Live): “Jack Clarke: I really like him. He’s a really, really top player. I do like Jack Clarke. Are we going to get him? I don’t think so but he’s a good, good player.”
