It’s not often that Toby Alderweireld scores two in one game for Tottenham. In fact, the Belgium central defender rarely scores at all.
During his five seasons with the Lilywhites, Alderweireld has played 197 games and scored seven goals (Wikipedia).
Unfortunately for him, Toby’s first today came at the wrong end of the pitch, as he deflected the ball home past Lloris via his left foot.
It didn’t take too long for the Spurs man to make amends though, as he went up for a corner at the other end and found the ball falling at his feet.
Toby swivelled on it and slammed the ball home into the top corner, a goal that even Harry Kane would have been proud of.
Alderweireld has had a momentous week off the pitch too, as he welcomed his second child into the world along with his wife Shani.
Jose Mourinho commented on the man on and off the pitch in his press conference.

He said (Football London): “Funny game. I think a funny game because he scored two goals. A part of football is he scored two amazing goals, the daughter and the son.
“So, I think it is time to celebrate that and of course to celebrate the victory and of course to celebrate a goal that he doesn’t score many and to forget the goal he scores in our own goal!”
