Jose Mourinho confirms one player who will start in Europa League against LASK

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Davinson Sanchez will start in the heart of the Tottenham defence tomorrow when the Lilywhites play in the Europa League.

Spurs face LASK at home in the first match of their group stage journey this year and will be looking to wash out the awful taste of that West Ham result at the weekend.

Mourinho and his players have already played three Europa League games this season just to qualify for the group stages. However, Spurs fans will be able to watch this latest game with more comfort without the potential of being knocked out on the night.

Davinson Sanchez had an eventful outing against West Ham on Sunday, putting in a masterful performance until he turned the ball into his own net with five minutes to go.

This proved to be the catalyst for a West Ham comeback as the Hammers struck a third with seconds left on the clock. However, Mourinho politely asked the media not to reference the own goal when Sanchez came out for his press conference today.

He said (Alasdair Gold): “The only player I can confirm is starting is Davinson Sanchez, who will be at the press conference. The only thing I ask is that you don’t ask him about his amazing goal on Sunday.”
