Jose Mourinho gives blunt response to what is going on with Gareth Bale at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur fell to their third Premier League defeat in a row last night, all coming in the space of a week against Liverpool, Brighton and now Chelsea.

The Spurs side lacked urgency and a killer instinct in attack, despite the likes of Heung-min Son, Carlos Vinicius and Steven Bergwijn starting the game.

Although he was named in the XI for the clash against Brighton last week, Gareth Bale was left on the bench in the London derby loss to Chelsea.

In fact, Mourinho chose to ignore his third substitute slot completely, bringing on Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela, but ignoring the offerings of the Welshman.

Of course, journalists asked Mourinho about the Gareth Bale situation in his post-match interview and the Spurs head coach assured fans that the winger is trying his best.

The Special One also added that he is trying to get the best out of the former Tottenham superstar this season.

When asked, ‘You didn’t mention Gareth Bale in that list of attacking player and he was overlooked tonight, what’s going on there?’, Mourinho replied (Football London):

“I’m doing my best, he’s doing his best. Everybody is doing their best.”
