Jose Mourinho gives hint about his starting XI for Europa League match

Jose Mourinho told the press today that he would name a ‘very similar’ starting line-up to the one we saw in Hungary in the first-leg when Spurs face Wolfsberger tomorrow.

The Lilywhites managed to carve out a 4-1 lead from that first match, with goals coming from Heung-min Son, Gareth Bale, Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius.

The Spurs head coach added that he would be naming people on the bench who have the ability to change a game if needed.

However, one would see it as a disaster if Spurs were at risk of getting knocked out by the Austrian side after taking such a commanding first-leg lead.

Last week in Hungary, Mourinho named a starting line-up of Hugo Lloris, Matt Doherty, Ben Davies, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Gareth Bale, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and Heung-min Son.

He also used Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Erik Lamela, Steven Bergwijn, Tanguy Ndombele and Carlos Vinicius off the bench.

If the head coach is to be believed, we will see something similar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow evening.

Mourinho said (Jonathan Veal): “The approach is very similar to the first leg. We go with a strong side, we go with a bench with players that can help turn the direction of a game if we need. Our starting line-up is very similar to the one in Hungary.”
