Jose Mourinho gives six word update on Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso injury

Tottenham Hotspur head coach, Jose Mourinho has now given supporters a six-word update on Giovani Lo Celso’s injury and when he is expected to return.

Lo Celso’s Spurs career has been riddled with injuries since he first arrived from Real Betis in the summer of 2019.

Transfer Markt list that the attacking midfielder has suffered four separate injuries during that time in North London, despite never having been sidelined through injury at any of his other clubs.

Since being out with his most recent hamstring injury, Lo Celso has missed Premier League clashes against Wolves and Leeds United, League Cup games against Stoke City and Brentford, and the FA Cup match against Marine this weekend.

The Argentine has five goals and one assist across 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season (TransferMarkt).

Jose Mourinho has now claimed that Lo Celso is still out injured and will be for a few more weeks yet, meaning fans may have to wait until February for his return.

He said (Football London): “He’s injured. For a few weeks.”
