Tottenham Hotspur fans may be able to rest easy regarding the contract situation of Japhet Tanganga at the club, as Jose Mourinho seems to have hinted at a stay.
It was reported this month by Football Insider that Mourinho’s charm offensive may have sparked a contract U-turn for Tanganga at Tottenham.
Spurs and Tanganga have reportedly been in talks for months now about a new deal that will see him remain at his boyhood club.
However, back in November, Football Insider reported that Tanganga had turned down Tottenham’s first offer of a new deal, which sparked worries among some fans.
It is likely that a string of appearances on the bench and a start against Liverpool will do no harm towards convincing Tanganga to sign a new deal.
Mourinho also hinted today in his press conference that he would not be playing Tanganga if his contract was set to expire at the end of the season.
