Jose Mourinho on how quick he thinks Joe Rodon can adapt to the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a busy summer transfer window this year, bringing in the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon, and Carlos Vinicius before the European deadline.

However, the Lilywhites weren’t done there, as they also managed to secure the signing of young Joe Rodon from Swansea City before the later EFL deadline.

It was reported that Tottenham paid just £11m for the Welsh central defender, which now seems like a masterstroke with the injuries to Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga.

In fact, some Swansea fans were left furious with their board after such a prized asset was allowed to leave for a relatively small fee.

Although Rodon is experienced in terms of first-team football and international games for Wales, he is unproven in the Premier League.

Mourinho was asked today how quickly he thinks the centre-back will adapt to the top flight this season after his late deadline day move.

He said (Charlie Eccleshare): “Let’s see how he adapts to the different level and intensity. We got him because we can see a future for him. Let’s work and let’s see the evolution and step by step he will be there.”
