Jose Mourinho on whether Spurs could sign a new player after back-to-back defeats

Tottenham Hotspur fell to their second defeat of the week last night as Brighton saw out a 1-0 victory over the Lilywhites in the Premier League.

The Seagulls scored early in the match through Trossard and Spurs struggled to create any clear cut chances throughout the 90 minutes.

After an awful first 45 minutes, Mourinho decided to bring Carlos Vinicius off the bench to deputise for the injured Harry Kane.

The Brazilian went closest for the Lilywhites with both a headed chance from a corner and a self-made snapshot with his left foot, the latter forcing a good save.

With Kane out injured, Tanguy Ndombele coming off injured and Spurs struggling to consistently create chances in the Premier League of late, Mourinho was asked whether the club may dip into the transfer market.

With the window shutting at 11 pm this evening, Daniel Levy would certainly have to move quick to pull off one of his late transfer masterclasses. However, Mourinho seemed to rule out any such move.

Mourinho said (Football London): “I don’t expect, no.

“Of course, today was a day where I am disconnected from my bosses, I am disconnected from the club contacts, I am just focused on the game. But I don’t think so. I was not expecting anything to happen.”
